Rumors about the Nokia N8 have been around since it was first spotted in live photo back in March. Since then, the smartphone has been the talk of the town, and I don’t see any reason why not since this is touted to become the Finnish company’s first ever smartphone to have 12-megapixel camera.
Finally, we need not to listen about any rumors from now on since the Nokia N8 has now been officially announced. Aside from that 12-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera with autofocus, xenon flash, face recognition and HD 720p video recording, the N8 is also the company’s first Symbian^3 OS running device, and also the first to be integrated with Qt software development environment. Along with this, The Nokia N8 will also have “several major advances” including multitouch gesture support, personalized homescreens that can be loaded with applications and widgets, 2D and 3D graphics, and “greater memory management”.
The Nokia N8 will also be powered by 680MHz ARM 11 processor, and its other features include 3.5-inch OLED widescreen with 640 x 360 pixels, FM radio and FM transmitter, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, WLAN, Flash Lite 4.0 and Flash video support, HDMI output, and 16GB of internal memory with microSD card slot that can hold up to 32GB.
It is also announced that the Nokia N8 will start selling on the third quarter of this year for €370 or about $495 in black, silver, blue, orange and lime colors.
