Nokia C6 is a Nokia N97-Like Handset

A few weeks after the Nokia C5 has been officially announced along with the manufacturer’s new naming convention, now comes new leaked information about the Nokia C6. Tom’s Guide has actually revealed a photo of what is believed to be the C6, and it looks like a trimmed down Nokia N97.

Well, unlike the N97 though, this won’t have a steel frame and it also won’t have the tilting LCD. It will also have only 256MB of internal memory as compared to the N97 with 32GB; but then, 3G connectivity and a microSD card slot have been retained.

This new information is totally opposite as to the previous rumors that the Nokia C6 is the Nokia Mystic in a candybar form factor with a QWERTY keyboard. There’s still no official announcement about this Nokia C6 anyway, so we do not know what it would really look like and what other interesting features will it have.

Nokia 3711 Cell Phone Review–Looks Great, Works Not So Well

Today we’re going to take a look at another Nokia cell phone that leans a little too hard on its good looks to remember that it’s got to put out the features and the utility to be a truly valuable cell phone. After all, at the end of the day, a phone that looks like a brick and does everything will trump a phone that looks amazing and just makes calls. And that’s the exact problem the Nokia 3711 will face.

The Nokia 3711 offers Bluetooth connectivity, a phone book with room for two thousand contacts, text messaging, multimedia messaging, a calendar, alarm clock, stopwatch, world clock, note pad, a voice recorder, voice dialing, GPS, a two megapixel camera with a self-timer and a variety of other settings, a variety of downloadable games, 3G access, an FM radio, and a battery that yields three and a half hours of talk time on a single charge.

It’s not hard to look at this thing and be down on it, because it’s just not exactly the best phone I’ve ever seen. The thing even feels flimsy, and working with it isn’t difficult because there’s not that much to work with. It doesn’t tackle a whole lot of features, and even the battery’s among the lowest in the industry, but it does accomplish a handful of things fairly well and looks good doing it. Seriously, the pictures this thing’s camera takes are unsettlingly good for two megapixel resolution.

So in the end, the Nokia 3711 is worth a look if you’re okay with low end, and the accompanying low cost to match.
